WindLogics Expands St. Paul Headquarters and Continues Staff Additions
Company grows in response to increased demand for its wind resource assessment and forecasting services
ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA, September 4, 2007 -- WindLogics today announced that the company has moved its corporate headquarters to expanded facilities in St. Paul’s historic Bandana Square. With this move, the company will triple its headquarters space to accommodate its growing staff and services. The facility includes a new operations center for state-of-the-art 24x7 data management and forecasting capabilities. Growth also continues at the company’s research center in Grand Rapids, MN.
“The past year has been a period of exceptional activity within the wind industry, and we are pleased to be part of this phenomenal growth,” said Mark Ahlstrom, WindLogics CEO. “Our growth strategy is designed to meet current industry needs and develop new services for the future. Wind energy is now a mainstream part of the energy business, and this requires engineering services based on deep understanding of both the weather and how wind projects react to it in the real world.”
According to Ahlstrom, the company’s growth spans the company’s core offering of wind resource assessments, financial due diligence and forecasting. He further noted the growing need for better ways to analyze operating wind projects and separate wind resource variability from other operational issues. “We must feed this knowledge back to improved assessment techniques and financial projections, as well as provide alternative ways of dealing with wind variability risk. Getting people interested in wind is now easy – but what matters is getting wind power plants online, performing as expected and contributing to our future electrical power needs in a clean and cost-effective way.”
Recent additions to the company’s technical staff include Crystal Paulsen, Meteorologist; Randy Hill, Operations Scientist; Tom Saxen, Forecast Meteorologist; Michael Wick, Software Developer; Ben Hendrickson, Meteorologist; and Joe Sullivan, Project Manager. The company also added Pam Rendine-Cook, Chief Information Officer, and Patty Kleinschmidt, Executive Assistant, to its management staff. David Elliott, Research Scientist, has joined the Grand Rapids Research Center.
Bandana Square is located in the Northern Pacific Railway Company Como Shops Historic District, built in the 1880s and added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The district itself is located in St. Paul’s Energy Park, which is served by an innovative heating and cooling system employing closed-loop distribution of centrally heated and chilled water.
Headquartered in St. Paul, MN, WindLogics is a leader in advanced wind resource analysis, long-term wind variability and weather forecasting services.
