WindLogics Expands Services to Meet Growing Customer Demand
New offerings include Viewpoint™ Discovery Study and Visionpoint™ Operational Assessment
ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA, May 28, 2008 -- WindLogics today announced that the company has expanded its services to the wind power industry. The company’s offerings now include a new Viewpoint Discovery Study for preliminary site evaluation and Visionpoint Operational Assessment for wind plant performance review.
“WindLogics has made its name in the wind industry by providing expert analysis throughout the study-finance-operate continuum, and we’re pleased to offer these new services to the industry,” said Larry Sinesio, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
The Discovery Study is a customized analysis that provides an initial examination of local terrain, meteorology, and wind characteristics, along with long-term wind analysis. The study integrates both existing customer-provided information and publicly available wind data to quickly deliver a report tailored to project needs.
“The study is ideal for customers examining a specific area of interest and requiring recommendations for further study, based on available maps, public met tower data or broader regional studies,” he continued. “Our customers appreciate the way we design a Discovery Study to meet the unique needs of each project.”
On the other side of the wind project continuum, the Visionpoint Operational Assessment provides a detailed analysis of wind variability as a component of wind plant performance for a specific period of time. Employing short-term meteorological data, long-term weather archives and regional METAR data, the analysis thoroughly examines wind variability and its impact on capacity factor and power production.
“It’s no secret the wind industry is seeing performance outside original expectations,” he commented. “We’re glad we have the data and expertise to study this industry concern and provide some answers, so owners and financiers can make informed decisions.”
Headquartered in St. Paul, MN, WindLogics is a leader in advanced wind resource analysis, long-term wind variability and weather forecasting services. Using weather data and advanced computer modeling techniques, WindLogics services help landowners, project developers, owner/operators, financiers and utilities reduce their financial risk and maximize their return through a better understanding of the wind at their locations of interest.
