WindLogics CEO, Mark Ahlstrom, addressed the NE Region System Operators at their Wind Integration Seminar on February 13, when he presented his thoughts on getting forecasts into the system operator control room. He spoke about the importance of operator perception, situational understanding, integration of wind forecasts into other tools and issues when implementing wind forecasting in market systems.
The invitation-only seminar was held in Montreal, with attendees from Hydro-Quebec TransEnergie, ISO New England, NYISO, Maritime Electric, New Brunswick SO, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro, Northern Maine ISA and Nova Scotia Power SO. "It was fascinating to speak with the various system operators about their unique situations, perspectives and interrelationships in the Northeast," commented Ahlstrom.
